Edward C. Nino
Senior Attorney, Trust & Estate Litigation
Ed Nino is a trust and estate litigator. He represents trustees, executors, beneficiaries, individuals, and families in contested trust, estate, and probate matters.
Ed brings a substantial amount of trial experience to this practice, which began during his years as a criminal defense attorney in the Santa Clara County Public Defender’s Office. He has first-chaired more than 100 jury trials and has handled more than 500 bench trials and contested hearings, and several of his matters drew coverage from the Daily Journal, 60 Minutes, and 48 Hours. That courtroom record informs how he prepares and tries trust and estate cases today.
Trust and Estate Practice
Ed handles contested fiduciary matters, including elder abuse claims, breach of fiduciary duty actions, and accounting disputes, and he has litigated estates valued in the multiple millions of dollars. His practice also covers contested probate matters, trust administration proceedings, Heggstad petitions, trust modification proceedings, and petitions for instructions. He has handled appellate work in trust and estate matters as well.
His approach is straightforward: he prepares carefully, builds the evidence, and negotiates where it serves the client, taking matters to trial when necessary.
